Daylight Saving Time switch for US, Canada this Sunday but not Mexico

Clocks spring forward in both the United States and Canada on Sunday, March 12 but Mexico will wait another three weeks to make its Daylight Saving Time (DST) switch.

It is important to remember that Eastern Standard Time (EST) will be two hours ahead of most of Mexico until Sunday, April 2, when this country moves clocks forward one hour.  CST (Central Standard Time) will be ahead by one hour, and PST (Pacific Standard Time) by three hours.

Television programs broadcast from the north will start an hour earlier. For example, fans in Jalisco of CNN’s Anderson Cooper should tune in at 6 p.m., rather than 7 p.m.
