The United States will open its land borders with Mexico and Canada to fully vaccinated foreigners for non-essential travel in “early November,” the White House announced this week.
Both borders have been closed since March 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The border reopenings run parallel to forthcoming requirements announced recently for foreigners flying into the United States. All international visitors by air will have to show proof of vaccination, as well as a negative Covid test result.
All vaccines approved by the World Health Organization will be accepted in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said.
