Chapala Mayor Joaquín Huerta recently presented three certificates of appreciation to leaders of Ajijic’s Indigenous Community in recognition for the organization’s contributions to the community.
The group fostered a pact with the University of Guadalajara to establish local access to the institution’s online study programs through the Centro Cultural Ajijic and also donated a 154-square-meter parcel of land for construction of a permanent virtual education center. Another larger plot has been set aside on permanent loan to the Pasión de Cristo steering committee as a staging site for the annual Easter Passion Play.
