Chapala stock show kicks off April 1

Expo Ganadera 2016, Chapala’s third annual stock show, opens Friday, April 1 for a 10-day run featuring exhibitions of horses, cattle and other farm animals, live entertainment and plenty of family-oriented activity. 

The event will take place on the grounds of the Lienzo Charro J. González Gallo arena, located at the north end of Avenida Madero, across the road from the Pemex station. Gates open daily at 4 p.m., with general admission on most dates set at 30 pesos for adults and 15 pesos for children, giving visitors access to view livestock, buy food and merchandise at vendor stalls, check out the petting farm, enjoy the thrills of mechanical rides and take in the special shows staged in the bullring.

Entry will be free of charge following Friday’s opening day equestrian parade along the main avenue, starting at 6 p.m. The price goes up on the last two days when big name bandas are on the bill.
