San Antonio plaza renewal plan unveiled

The Chapala government this week revealed a plan to remodel the central plaza of San Antonio Tlayacapan, by using four million pesos from the state’s Regional Development Fund (Fondereg) to carry out the work.

Proposed modifications include complete resurfacing the square with concrete in sections stamped with different geometric designs in shades of brown, gray and red.  Other details involve a facelift for the bandstand kiosk and installation of new electrical wiring and lighting fixtures. Existing green areas and trees will be conserved.

Visual renderings of the project do not show whether or not the wrought iron park benches will be replaced by new models.

The three-part illustration of the plan will be displayed outside the Delegación office daily, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for the next three weeks. Residents are welcome to register comments and suggestions in the public opinion notebook at the reception desk.  Work is scheduled to commence after the town’s nine-day fiestas patronales end on June 13.
