See Revolution Day parades in Chapala, Ajijic on Nov. 18, 20

Chapala commemorates Mexican Revolution Day on Friday, November 18, with a big parade looping along both lanes of Avenida Madero.

The route starts at the south end of the main thoroughfare, 9 a.m. This year’s Desfile Civico will also feature floats allusive to the 200th Anniversary of  end of the Mezcala Island revolt during the nation’s Independence struggle.

Ajijic marks the Revolution Day holiday on its original date, Sunday, November 20, with a traditional parade running east to west on Calle Constitución-Ocampo to Seis Esquinas, returning to the plaza via Hidalog. Look for local school kids performing lively athletic routines and marching or riding floats dressed up in costumes of the era.
