Chapala beefs up security for holidays

The Chapala police department is implementing special strategies to ensure the safety and security of visitors and residents over the holiday season

Police Chief Adán Domínguez announced the hiring of 25 new officers this month to assist in beefing up vigilance, patrols and response time during the busy period between December 5 and January 7. Most of the new cops are qualified young men and women recruited in the community, including some with strong English-language skills.  

He also mentioned that trained police personnel is available upon request to accompany banking clients who desire special protection. Call police headquarters at 765-4444 to make arrangements.
