Looking for a place to ring in 2017 with a bang?
The Chapala government has lined up its second annual Festival del Año Nuevo to be held Friday, December 31, at the waterfront Malecón, starting around 10 p.m.
The program will feature a live musical show for two hours of dancing in the streets, climaxing with a glittering fireworks display to blast off at the stroke of midnight.
The celebration is open to the public free of charge. Last year some folks showed up in groups, hauling in portable furniture, party snacks and libations to enhance the fun.
