Ajijic will welcome 2017 in high spirits on Sunday, January 1, with the wild and whacky Desfile de Año Nuevo parade put on by residents of the west-end Barrio de Guadalupe.
The parade features a string of whimsical floats filled with local folks dressed up in silly outfits, performing high-spirited antics as they rumble around the village.
The paraders line up at Seis Esquinas, Ocampo at Alvaro Obregon, between Noon and 1 p.m., heading east towards the center of town once all are ready to go. The bizarre entourage finishes its run at the waterfront Tecoluta soccer field.
