Enjoy a razzle-dazzle welcome to 2018 compliments of the local government at the Festival de Luces events set for Sunday, December 31 at the Chapala and Ajijic waterfront promenades.
Live music for dancing will crank up at 9 p.m. in both locations. The Factory Show orchestra performs in Chapala with a wide repertoire of standard Mexican and international genres. Sonora Parritos, Zona Cuba and Sonora Primavera are lined up for Ajijic in back-to-back sets featuring cumbia and tropical tunes.
Firework displays will simultaneously light up the sky and reflect in Lake Chapala’s water at the stroke of midnight.
Party-goers are welcome arrive early to stake out territory with their own tables and chairs and carry in their own food and drinks to make a night of it. ¡Feliz Año Nuevo!
