State targets lakeside for dui spot-checks

Just four days after meeting with Chapala residents to discuss local crime and safety issues, Jalisco’s Security Cabinet chief Macedonio Tamez made good on his commitment to help get drunk drivers off the roads.

On Saturday, November 2, and again the next day, state traffic police set up traps on opposite sides of the Chapala-Jocotepec highway near the junction with the Libramiento bypass and at the outskirts of Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos where breathalyzers tests were applied in random spot-checks of passing motorists.
