Joe Biden was the clear favorite among 300 voters casting ballots in Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary at the polling station set up Tuesday, March 3 at the Lake Chapala Society.
The provisional tally showed Biden earning 140 votes for 47 percent of the total, trouncing Bernie Sanders, ranked second with 69 ballots, and Elizabeth Warren a close third with 62.Michael Bloomberg racked up just 23 votes, well ahead of Amy Klobuchar with two votes, Pete Buttigieg and Tom Steyer with one each. And two voters registered as uncommitted.
Official results of the Global Primary will be announced on March 23, following review and vetting of all ballots cast worldwide. U.S. citizens residing permanently or temporarily at Lakeside can still vote online in the Global Primary until March 10, if they have not yet voted in another 2020 state Presidential Primary.
