Four young men were shot to death in the early hours of Saturday, April 25 in the vicinity of the Chapala cemetery.
The violent incident was reported to local police around 2 a.m. by residents who heard heavy gunfire ring out near their homes. Officers arriving at the scene on Calle Venustiano Carranza, near the intersection of Pepe Guizar, discovered the bodies of four males estimated to be 25 to 30 years of age.
Two of the corpses were sprawled out in the street on the passenger side of a late model white Nissan X-trail that was riddled with bullet holes. Another was outside the passenger side of the vehicle and the fourth body was found face down in the back seat.
Evidence collected at the crime scene included dozens of bullet casings from four different types of firearms that were spread as far as 30 meters away, indicating that various gunmen were involved in the fatal attack.
