Expats urge Covid crackdown

As confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection continue rising in the lakeshore region, a growing number of resident expats are appealing to local authorities for a serious crackdown against individuals and commercial enterprises that are not adhering to directives on social distancing, face mask use and other prevention measures.

pg9aTaking steps on behalf concerned immigrants, Chapala Expatriate Liaison Héctor España Ramos has filed a written petition with Mayor Moísés Anaya Aguilar requesting the imposition of fines on persons seen out in public without properly placed face coverings, as well as issuing warnings to the business community regarding the strict sanitary measures they should follow.
