Reviving the restaurant sector at lakeside

The Chapala government is on board to help the local restaurant sector reactivate business in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, offering fiscal incentives to affiliates of Restauranteros Unidos y Asociados de la Ribera de Chapala (RUA).

pg12aMayor Moisés Anaya detailed the special benefits available to RUA members at a press conference the group held on Wednesday, March 3. Perks would include waiving or reducing fees for solid waste collection services and requisite authorizations for operations issued by Civil Protection inspectors, plus the option of interest-free deferred payments by credit card for annual municipal business licenses.

The press conference was headed by RUA mastermind and president Alex Sgroi, accompanied by his vice president Alejandro Sahagún, along with Aldo de Anda, President of the Jalisco branch of the national restaurant chamber CANIRAC and other representatives of the food service industry.

Sgroi stressed that local restaurateurs will have a better chance of bouncing back from the past year´s economic downturn by joining forces through RUA, taking advantage of government cooperation and eliciting the support of their clientele. He pointed out that lakeside´s restaurant sector is a driving force in the local economy, providing job opportunities at scores of dining establishments and significant business income for suppliers and the area’s service providers.
