Mount Garcia up in flames

Lake Chapala and its south shore have been veiled in heavy smoke over the past week as firefighters battled a huge wildfire that broke out on the steep hills of Mount García.

Civil Protection brigades from Tuxcueca and Jocotepec have been assisted by personnel from the National Guard, Jalisco Environment Agency (Semadet) and the National Forestry Commission, to bring under control flames blanketing approximately 3,000 hectares.
