Chapala Mayor-elect Alejandro Aguirre took off on a jaunt to southern California last weekend to reinforce bonds with hundreds of native Chapala sons and daughters who have emigrated to that part of the United States to live, work and raise families.
Aguirre’s busy itinerary included visits to various communities located in the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, where clans of Chapala’s hijos ausentes have settled through many generations. He and his wife Erika Torres Herrera were warmly welcomed as honored guests at a string of social gatherings held in Santa Ana, Anaheim, Whittier and Pico Rivera.
