Covid in Chapala: Jabs for young adults given as cases rise

The Chapala government reports excellent turn-out for the Covid-19 vaccination campaign held Tuesday through Friday this week at the Instituto Tecnológico.

pg11aThe clinic was open for application of a first dose of the Sinovac vaccine to residents of the municipality from 18 to 29, and others in older age categories who missed previous opportunities to get a first jab. The program may be extended through Saturday, July 31, if the supply of vaccines is sufficient to receive more patients.

The clinics targeting young adults was held simultaneously in 29 municipalities. Jocotepec was not included in this week’s scheduling.  Dates for administering second doses of Sinovac and other types of vaccines are also still pending.

Individuals awaiting round-two shots and other vaccination clinics are advised to closely monitor the Secretaría de Salud Jalisco Facebook site for last-minute notifications of dates and locations in Chapala, Jocotepec and other municipalities in Región Sanitaria IV, as well as all other Jalisco localities. Requisite paperwork, including copies of registration at mivacuna.salud.gob.mx or proof of first vaccine, CURP identification, INE voter ID or INM residency card, are best prepared in advance.
