Ajijic’s faithful closed out last month with a festive finale of month-long observances honoring Our Lady of the Rosary, the town’s original spiritual patroness.
The antique statue of La Virgen was carried through the streets on a large bier laden with flowers in the traditional October 31 procession preceding evening mass at the San Andrés parish.
Festivities continuing after the service featured the kindling of two firework displays, first blazing on a small tower outside the Rosary chapel, and later on a giant Castillo set up in the San Andrés atrium.
