Chapala police chief replaced

The Chapala government has announced a changing of the guard at the municipal public security department, following the November 17 resignation of Sergio Conzuelo Ramírez who had headed the police force for just over one year.

The new chief named as his replacement is Alfredo Ulloa Higuera who brings a long record of professional training and employment in public service to the job.

Ulloa Higuera earned a law degree from the Universidad de Guadalajara and a degree in Public Safety from Jalisco’s Academía de Policía y Vialidad. He has previously served as first commander of the Grupo Gamas motorcycle squad attached to Guadalajara’s Public Security Department, operational coordinator of the CURVA drunk driving prevention program, and director of the Metropolitan Traffic Police. He comes to Chapala after a stint as public security commissioner in Juanacatlán.

Another change in Mayor Alejandro Aguirre’s cabinet is the appointment of Juan Eufrasio Márquez Flores as new economic promotion director.
