Solstice ceremony in Chapala

An indigenous ceremony in celebration of the winter solstice takes place on Saturday, December 16, starting at 10 a.m. at the open-air forum on the eastern leg of the Chapala Malecón.

The event will revolve around an ancestral ritual and offerings to Mother Nature to rejoice in life, rebirth and a new era of love, health, happiness and abundance. It will be led by Guadalajara’s Casa Lahak 1000 Tambores drum tribe and Mezcala village elder Exiquio Santiago Cruz.
