Non-profit organizations and institutions offering social assistance services at Lakeside will be showcased at Expo Ajijic 2025, scheduled for Sunday, June 2, at the waterfront Malecón.
The event aims to introduce both the area’s foreign residents and the general public to various local charitable groups and their diverse activities, all in one day. Participating organizations will welcome visitors to their booths from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to share information about their work in support of the Mexican community and to recruit new volunteers and supporters. A Mass celebration will follow immediately after the expo.
Guests are also invited to enjoy a free serving of birria, a traditional meat stew, which will be served from 3 p.m. The program will conclude with live entertainment at the Ajijic Plaza at 7 p.m., featuring the Tallboys Band.
Project coordinator Héctor España reports that organizations already confirmed for the event include the Lake Chapala Shrine Club, Rotary Club of Ajijic, and Cruz Roja Chapala. Former Chili Cookoff President Jacque Bouchard and Pasión de Cristo English narrator Phil Rylett will serve as MCs.
Many other social service groups are expected to join the event. Those interested in sponsoring exhibits are encouraged to contact España for details via phone or WhatsApp at 33-1065-0725.
