A group of students at the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Chapala staged a peaceful on-campus protest on Tuesday, September 23.
The purpose was to air grievances on administrative issues and alleged irregularities that are claimed to disrupt academic and internal community life.
The students intended to manifest disagreement with politically motivated appointments to key executive positions, and denounce limitations on student projects, financial charges imposed on themselves and teachers, closure of the Gastronomy program cafeteria, and the dismissal of a professor with a long career at the institution.
Resolutions to the conflicts were still pending at press time.
