Academic institutions are set to play a central role in “Axixic Vive 2025,” the local program of activities tied into Day of the Dead festivities.
A preliminary outline of events that will take place from October 30 through November 2 was presented this week during a press conference at the Centro Cultural Ajijic (CCA). The panel included Patricia Rosas Chávez, rector of the Centro Universitario Chapala (CU-Chapala), alongside representatives from the Instituto Tecnológico and the Ajijic branch of CETAC prep school.
Rosas announced that CU-Chapala will host children’s reading workshops at the main plaza on November 1 and 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The university will also present a technologically generated Día de Muertos memorial altar and a symbolic offering to Lake Chapala. Rosas is also coordinating appearances by University of Guadalajara performance groups for the live entertainment schedule.
