In a new shuffle of Chapala government officials, Mayor Alejandro Aguirre announced the appointment of Jesús Escamilla Ramos as the new administrator of Ajijic, effective on Tuesday, January 6.
A native of Ajijic, Escamilla has served as Aguirre’s director of culture since the 2021-2024 administration. He now replaces Timoteo Aldana Pérez, who reportedly resigned for personal reasons after almost two years as head of the Ajijic office.
In a video post on Facebook, Aguirre highlighted Escamilla’s experience within the municipal government and his solid track record in the cultural sphere.
