A recent rash of vehicle thefts has raised concerns that the Chapala area is being targeted by organized auto thieves.
Last week, the owners of two late-model Honda SUVs reported their vehicles stolen on the same night from parking spaces on Ajijic’s Calle Zaragoza. Both thefts were reported to the appropriate authorities, but investigations have yet to identify suspects or recover the vehicles.
