Mexican President-Elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to his inauguration on December 1.
Putin, however, is expected to attend this year’s G20 summit in Argentina on November 30 and December 1. But according to Russia’s Tass news agency, there is a chance Putin could travel to Mexico following the summit to meet with the new president. Various talks between Lopez Obrador’s transition team and Russian diplomats have taken place recently, as Mexico looks to broaden its trading and reduce its dependency on the United States.
