Around 200,000 tickets for the lottery of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s presidential plane will go on sale in Jalisco as of March 2. Each “cachito” – as the tickets are referred to – will have a cost of 500 pesos.
But while billed as a raffle for the unwanted Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the luxurious plane will not actually be the grand prize. Up for grabs will be the estimated value of the plane, which is around two billion pesos, or $US103 million.
