Outbreak at prison represents 10% of Covid-19 cases

A Covid-19 outbreak at the Puente Grande state penitentiary in Guadalajara accounts for just over one-tenth of all positive cases registered in the state of Jalisco.

pg1aAs of Wednesday, May 5, 63 inmates had tested positive for the disease, out of 621 in the entire state.

Most of the infected inmates are asymptomatic, the Jalisco Health Department (SSJ) has confirmed. All are in isolation away from the main prison population and none have so far required hospitalization.  Two male inmates, 24 and 32 years old, are reported to have recovered completely and are free of infection.
