US State Dep’t cuts back services

Worldwide, just under 47,000 non-immigrant visas were issued in April, a drop from around 400,000 one month prior, according to statistics released by the U.S. State Department. As elsewhere, U.S. diplomatic missions in Mexico are only issuing visas to foreigners for emergency travel situations.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Consulate General in Guadalajara (and other missions around the world) continue to provide essential consular services to U.S. citizens who require them.

U.S. citizens in the Guadalajara consular district should call 333-268-2100 for information, check https://mx.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/passport-services for appointment availability or call 800-681-9374 for 24/7 emergency assistance.
