National Action Party (PAN) state legislator Irma de Anda has proposed changes to the penal code that would sanction people who willfully or negligently infect others with coronavirus with a prison term of up to three years.
This would also apply to other infectious diseases. This would include people who are diagnosed with the disease and fail to take the necessary steps to self-isolate, continuing with their normal routines and endangering others.
