Migrants in Mexico should have access to vaccines, NGOs say

The federal government appears to have fixed the glitches that plagued the launch of the website set up on February 2 to register people over 60 years old for Covid-19 vaccinations.

By February 9, health authorities said 4,168,302 million people had registered for a vaccine – around 30 percent of the estimated over-60s population segment. All that is required to register is a Unique Population Registration Number (CURP), which is available to all Mexican citizens and permanent residents.

Various NGOs, however, have criticized the government for making the CURP the sole requisite for obtaining a vaccine.
