Flights to PV from Canada & US pick up

Spirit Airlines will launch three new flights to Puerto Vallarta, from Los Angeles, Houston and Dallas, as of July 1. In total, the low-cost airline will operate 13 weekly flights to the western Mexican resort.

for no. 3Spirit, whose fleet consists entirely of 130 Airbus 320 aircraft, flies to 83 destinations throughout Central America, the Caribbean, South America and the United States. Meanwhile, Canadian airline WestJet has reinstated its weekly flights from Calgary, Alberta, to Puerto Vallarta. The non-stop Saturday flight takes 4 hours 45 minutes. All flights to Mexico from Canada were suspended in January at the request of the Canadian government.

Other Canadian airlines that normally run flights to Puerto Vallarta, including Air Transat and Air Canada, have hinted that they are likely to resume operations in the late summer or fall.

U.S. airlines serving the destination, including Delta, Alaska, Southwest and United, have gradually increased the regularity of their flight schedule to Vallarta as the severity of Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions are eased.

According to Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, the operators of the Puerto Vallarta Airport, 363 flights per week are expected to arrive in June, and 1,452 in the entire month.
