Henry Freihofer, a 59-year resident of Mexico, died December 29 at his home in Guadalajara, at the age of 86.
Born in Bern, Switzerland on April 6, 1926, Freihofer worked for a Guadalajara distributor of the Ford Motor Company, and later was a partner with his father-in-law in the John Deere dealership in Guadalajara, before retiring.
His wife of 57 years, Joyce Feihofer survives him. Freihofer is also survived by two children: a son; Arturo Freihofer and his wife of Mexico City, and a daughter; Patricia Freihofer of McKinney Texas. He had four grandchildren: Daniela, Eric, Marco and Cristian.
A memorial service was held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church in Guadalajara on Wednesday, January 2. Interment in Guadalajara will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
