Hannah Jones

Ajijic resident Hannah Jones died on March 11 after a short illness.

Born January 16, 1923, Jones was a steady force in her community and very involved with creating a place for kids to get off the street and do something constructive with their lives.  She was involved with the Deborah Foundation in Florida (she served in many positions including being president) for more than 25 years. She loved sports: football, baseball, basketball, or whatever was in season.

Jones came to Ajijic from the east coast of Florida in 2009.  She cruised around the world with her sister, Fanny, several times.

Her last years were spent winning numerous pinochle, card and domino games at Mel’s Steakhouse.

Jones dry wit and unfailing stoicism and strength in the face of the many adverse circumstances of her life, made her respected and admired by her many friends in the Lakeside area and in Florida.

She is survived by her son, Brad Feldser, who resides in Ajijic, and two grandsons, Adam Feldser of Florida and Aaron Feldser of Georgia. Another son, Richard Jones, preceded her in death.
