St. Pat’s Day on the Vallarta malecon

Two consecutive Saint Patrick’s Day charity events take place on Wednesday, March 14 in Puerto Vallarta.

From noon to 3 p.m., Murphy’s Irish Pub hosts its annual Pre-Saint Patrick’s comida. Later, from 4-7 p.m., Vallarta Celtfest is a live music celebration set to be held on the Malecón, across from Murphy’s and next to El Faro.

The pub will be offering a 250-peso all-you-can-eat buffet with corned beef and cabbage, Guinness stew, fish and chips, mashed potatoes, and garden salad.   There will also be a donation raffle of Patron Tequila and a 50-50 drawing.

Entertainment will be courtesy of The Clan Macnaughton Pipe Band (Edmonton, Alberta) and Larry Foley (Traditional Pub Musician from St. John’s Newfoundland).

Murphy’s Irish Pub is located at Morelos 484, in downtown Puerto Vallarta.

There is no cost to attend Vallarta Celtfest on the Malecon but voluntary charitable donations will be accepted.

The Celtfest line-up of entertainment consists of:

3:50 p.m. to 4:10 p.m.: The Clan Macnaughton Pipe Band start their march from McDonald’s on the Malecon, proceeding to the stage next to the lighthouse (El Faro).

4:15 p.m. to 5:25 p.m.: Larry Foley and Daniel Oliveros

5:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.: Clan Macnaughton Pipe Band

5:55 p.m. to 7 p.m.: La Trez Cuartoz Celtic Rock Band

Proceeds from these events will benefit the Playground in Vista Hermosa and Projecto Busca un Amigo, a day care center for Special Children located in Pitial, and the Jay Sadler Project.
