Puerto Vallarta has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of Mexico’s most vibrant art centers, and one key factor behind this is the abundance of small galleries scattered throughout the city center.
In fact, Vallarta boasts more art galleries than any other Mexican coastal town, with some dating back nearly 50 years. To help boost public interest, the city’s gallery owners were among the first in Mexico to organize a monthly art walk—now entering its 30th consecutive season.
The 2025-2026 Centro Histórico ArtWalk features 16 galleries, including long-standing favorites such as Galería Pacifico (established in 1987) and Galería UNO (opened in 1993), as well as many newer spaces showcasing works by local, national and international artists.
