Puerto Vallarta’s cruise economy gets back on track

On March 4, ten days after drug cartel violence abruptly shattered Jalisco’s calm, Puerto Vallarta welcomed the arrival of a major cruise liner, marking what officials described as a return to normalcy for the region’s cruise sector.

pg5bThe 330-meter Norwegian Bliss, carrying more than 4,300 passengers, ended the series of cancellations by cruise lines in the wake of the violent incidents that followed the February 22 military operation to detain drug kingpin, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, “El Mencho.”
