Governor falls off motorbike, misses his annual informe

Jalisco Governor Aristoteles Sandoval was unable to deliver his annual state-of-the-state report (informe) Tuesday after suffering a serious motorcycle accident last weekend.

Sandoval required surgery on his ankle after falling off his motorbike Sunday while on a recreational ride with friends on the Mazamitla-Tuxcueca highway. Doctors also reported minor injuries to his back.

Sandoval was unable to attend his third annual informe held on Tuesday, in which he is obliged to present an overview of his administration’s performance during the previous 12 months.

The governor remained hospitalized until Tuesday and will not be able to carry out any physical activity for the next two weeks. A full recovery will take around six weeks.  Sandoval said he might now reconsider his motorcycling hobby.
