Jalisco Congress sets wage limit for public servants

No public servant in Jalisco will be able to earn more than the governor of Jalisco, the state Congress voted unanimously last week. Currently, 45 state officials earn more than Governor

Aristoteles Sandoval’s 186,000-peso monthly wage. The president of the state’s Justice Tribunal and Judicial Committee is on a salary of 250,570 pesos a month – the highest paid public servant in Jalisco.

The salaries of incumbent public servants, however, will remain the same until the officials have finished their terms of office.
