Free flu shots still available

The Secretaría de Salud Jalisco (SSJ) has administered more than half a million free influenza shots since the start of the vaccination program in October.

Another 400,000 are still available over the next three months, the Secretaría de Salud Jalisco reports.

The SSJ received almost half of the two million vaccines distributed to health agencies in Jalisco – the rest went to the IMSS and ISSSTE.

Most at risk from complication from the flu are small children, pregnant women and everyone aged over 60.   It is also recommended that anyone suffering from a chronic disease condition obtain the shot.

The flu shots are administered free of charge at any SSJ clinic throughout the state.
