Paying your vehicle registration renewal

Pay the 2017 Refrendo Vehicular (registration renewal) for Jalisco-plated motor vehicles in person at the nearest recaudadora (state tax office) to obtain an official receipt, vehicle ID card and window stickers on the spot.

Cashiers require only the license plate number to access accounts and documents. For a complete list of all the recaudadoras in metro-area Guadalajara and the rest of Jalisco go to sepaf.jalisco.gob.mx.

At lakeside, the Chapala office #026 is located at Degollado 306, (376) 765-2064, and the Jocotepec office #046 at  Matamoros Sur 76, (387) 763-0029.  Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Refrendos may also be paid at banks, convenience stores and the sepaf.jalisco.gob.mx website, but without the benefit of immediate new documentation, which is forwarded in the mail.

The full cost of the refrendo this year is 507 pesos. The fee is discounted to 456 pesos if paid in January, and 482 pesos in February and March.  Late payment fees kick in after April 1.

This year, an obligatory “donation” of 40 pesos will be added to the refrendo for two charities: Cruz Roja Mexicana (20 pesos) and Hogar Cabañas (20 pesos).
