A new set of fines for transporting a child on a motorcycle has been approved by the Jalisco State Congress.
The maximum fine has increased to 2,112 pesos. Officers may consider it an infraction if the minor is unable to “sustain” his own balance. “Sandwiching” a child between two adults is also illegal, since apart from being unsafe it also contravenes the correct number of persons allowed on a motorcycle (two).
