Zapopan Mayor Pablo Lemus has warned citizens that criminals are employing drones to spy on homes in the municipality and target them for burglaries.
Eight cases of criminals using drones have been reported in recent weeks, three of them involvingresidences located near the Colomos Park, Lemus said. The mayor said criminal gangs are also using drones to scope out abandoned lots or properties under construction, which the gangs set them up as a secure and well-hidden base while carrying out illicit acts in the neighboring zone.
