At the same time Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro has been boasting of improvements in public security in the state, a newspaper report has revealed that last year he applied for a license to carry a personal weapon.
His petition to carry a .380-calibre handgun, together with 200 rounds, was because of “the insecurity that Jalisco and the rest of Mexico is currently experiencing,” his application to the Defense Ministry (Sedena) explained.
