Sale of ‘miracle’ drugs restricted

The Comisión para la Protección Contra Riesgos Sanitarios en el Estado de Jalisco (Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks – Coprisjal) has sent a directive to all pharmacies in the state restricting the sale of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin.

Evidence for a drug combo of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin has been touted by U.S. President Donald Trump as a life-saving cure for Covid-19.

The two drugs may now only be sold in Jalisco with a written prescription.

Coprisjal added that no medicine is currently available that is proven to cure or prevent infection from Covid-19.
