It’s that old Covid-19 conundrum.
Jalisco Pacific Coast hotels are reopening – with quite a few restrictions – and readying to receive domestic and foreign visitors again (see Pandemic story page 1). At the same time, state and federal authorities are still urging people to stay home as much as possible and only go out for “essential purposes.”
A trip to the beach can hardly be described as essential. That, however, is unlikely to stop scores of people – including many Tapatios (Guadalajara natives) – frustrated after months of quarantine from jumping in their cars and heading to the ocean, or to other magical Jalisco tourist enclaves.
