Covid-19 infections falling slightly

Jalisco government health officials believe the state is on the cusp of moving from the high risk category (orange on the epidemic traffic light monitoring system) to medium risk (yellow).

Hospital bed occupancy for Covid-19 patients early this week stood at 23.4 percent (642 patients), compared with 25.9 percent (708 patients) a week ago. This figure, however, does not include people receiving treatment at private hospitals.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 infections per million inhabitants fell from 316.9 to 315.9. The mortality rate of 33.3 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants is the sixth lowest figure nationwide.
