Targets won’t be met with slow rollout of vaccines, experts say

The largest batch of Covid-19 vaccines to arrive in the state of Jalisco to date touched down at the Guadalajara International Airport on March 2.

pg1aThe 156,000 doses of the Pfizer/BioTech vaccine were part of a delivery of more than 850,000 sent from the U.S. pharmaceutical company’s plant in Belgium.

These doses of vaccines are for exclusive distribution Mexico City,and the states of Querétaro, Jalisco and Nuevo León, said Mexican Heath Secretary Jorge Alcocer Varela. They will be earmarked for older people in “38 mainly urban municipalities,” he added.

However, two days after receiving the vaccines, Jalisco health officials said they were still waiting for federal authorities to provide details of where they should be distributed and applied.
