Chapala last but not least for second jabs

Chapala, Ocotlán, and Ciudad Guzmán are the three Jalisco municipalities outside the Guadalajara metro area that have yet to be scheduled for the second application of inoculations against the SARS-CoV-2 virus for seniors over age 60.

Guadalajara and Zapopan are also awaiting dates for booster shots.

Local authorities expect that the second round may be programmed as early as the first of next week. Residents of Chapala, Ajijic, San Antonio Tlayacapan, Santa Cruz de la Soledad, San Nicolás de Ibarra and Atotonilquillo, who received Sinovac shots here in mid-March are advised to prepare for last minute notice of the pending booster clinic. Copies of documents that will be required are the comprobante (certicate) for the first shot, CURP code registration and INM immigration residency card or other official photo ID.  A print-out of the individual’s original registration on the mivacuna website and a recent utility bill or other proof of local residence are also recommended for backup.  Use of face masks and social distancing practice are obligatory.

It is probable that the boosters will only be available this time at Chapala’s Cristianía Park, eliminating last month’s Ajijic venue, with scheduling organized according to alphabetic order of surnames.
